Juneteenth commemorates the official emancipation of enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was declared. The legacy of Juneteenth shows the value of never giving up hope in uncertain times, so stop by the display to grab a book & celebrate America's second independence day.

We received a wonderful surprise from one of our community patrons this week! Although not required, we certainly appreciate a sweat treat in the Library.

This patron has utilized our study spaces to assist with tutoring throughout the year. We may emphasize our commitment to students, faculty, and staff but we are also dedicated to assisting our community!

Each May, Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPI) are celebrated for their vital impact on American history. May has chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese people on May 7, 1843, and the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869, as the majority of workers were Chinese immigrants.

The Library will shift to summer hours after this week! From May 18th - 21st the Library will close at 4:30 PM and will be closed Friday - Sunday as well as Monday, May 25th as part of the College's closure for Memorial Day.

Summer hours beginning May 26th will be 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM Monday - Thursday with the Library being closed Friday - Sunday.
