Hope College International and TCK Students

Hope College International and TCK Students A page for former, current, and future Hope College International and TCK Students. These students come from over 30 different countries.

Since 1875, hundreds of international and Third Culture Kids (TCKs) have crossed the oceans to pursue their life-long dream of studying in the United States. These students have found their way to Hope College and Hope has forever been impacted by their contributions and insights. Approximately 3% of the Hope College student body is international and includes students seeking a degree from Hope as

well as exchange students from partner institutions. The Hope international community also includes a growing number of TCK students. Many TCKS join the Hope intrnational community because of the diverse backgrounds they have already experienced while growing up overseas. International students who choose Hope take their studies seriously and they appreciate that their fellow students share this commitment to academic excellence. Our TCKs have full access to the Fried International Center and are considered a part of the "international family." They have often played a significant role in building bridges between their international and American peers. The Fried International Center is pleased to serve as a resource to international students and TCK students. Our staff is committed to assist all students with their transition to the U.S. by offering an orientation, social events, immigration and academic support. We also offer a host family program and sponsor a variety of cultural events such as IMAGES: A Reflection of Cultures, the Annual International Food Fair, and shopping trips to Chicago and Grand Rapids. International and TCK students are involved in multiple groups and organizations throughout campus. Students needing assistance are encouraged to contact the staff of the Fried International Center immediately.
