Students placed at the program eventually return to their sending schools, or complete coursework at Mount Tom Academy and earn a diploma from their sending school.

Mount Tom Academy is an alternative learning program for high school students seeking a pathway to a high school diploma. The program is designed specifically to serve students who have been unsuccessful in traditional high school settings and may benefit from a different approach. Located on the campus of Holyoke Community College, the program supports dual enrollment and transition to college and career educational opportunities. Students engage in self-directed learning utilizing the Summit Learning approach. Students placed at the program eventually return to their sending schools, or complete coursework at Mount Tom Academy and earn a diploma from their sending school.
