Join us for one or all of our 2026 home canning classes! Each class will take place at the Habersham County Extension office, from 4pm-6:30pm. Your $30 registration fee includes all materials. You must pre-register, either online at tinyurl.com/HabCan2026 or by calling 706-754-2318.

Calling all rising 6th-8th 4-H’ers! Join us this summer at the Banks County UGA Extension Office on June 4th, 5th, and 8th from 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM for The Clover Kitchen: Cooking and Baking Club!

During these meetings, students will learn important kitchen safety skills, discover healthy nutrition habits, and practice cooking and baking delicious foods and treats. Each meeting will include hands-on activities, fun recipes, and new skills to try at home.

Come make new friends, learn your way around the kitchen, and have fun creating tasty dishes this June!

Calling all rising 6th-grade 4-H’ers! Join us this summer at the Banks County UGA Extension Office on June 5th, June 12th, July 10th, and July 17th from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM, where we’ll discover how we grow alongside nature.

Middle school brings a lot of changes, and just like developing kids, plants need the right environment, nutrients, and care to thrive!

At each meeting, we’ll dive into how our own growth connects to the plant world. Plus, you’ll get to pot your very own plant, watch it grow, and take it home at the end of summer. Come hang out with friends, learn something new, and get your hands a little dirty!

Come keep your license up-to-date! June 2nd, August 4th, and September 17th we will be hosting free trainings to get pesticide CEUs. Come learn with us at the UGA Extension Office in Banks County at 413 Evans Street, Homer, GA. Call or email Joshua at [email protected] or call 706-363-0573 and let me know if you’re coming and what category your license is! Trainings will be planned for an hour, but 2 hours can be done if need be.
The June and August trainings will be from 8:30 to 9:30 am. September 17th we will be livestreaming a 2 hour pesticide training on the relationship between ants and soft-scale insects in trees. The time is not established for that training yet.
