HPU Cinémathèque presents, Resurrection, This Wednesday, Oct. 21th, at 3:30 p.m. in WP6-323.
Featuring an introduction by HPU Spanish Professor, Dr. Gustavo Mori.
Directed by Bi Gan, Resurrection takes audiences into a mysterious future where humanity has traded dreams for immortality. But one outcast refuses to stop dreaming, traveling through different worlds, memories, and eras of cinema.

HPU Cinémathèque presents "Nouvelle Vague" by Richard Linklater, Monday, Sept. 28th, 6pm, Aloha Tower Marketplace, MPR4.

Nouvelle Vague is a dramatization of Jean-Luc Godard's making of "Breathless." "The movie shows both the fashioning of the French New Wave as a modern myth and confirms the enduring power of that myth." Richard Brody, The New York Times.

The film will be introduced by novelist and filmmaker, Prof. Pete Britos, Ph.D.

The HPU theater is seeking university students to help design, produce, and perform this full-length dramatic comedy that explores language, love, loss and the stories we struggle to preserve.

Those interested in the design, production and/or technical aspects of the show, do not need to "perform" at auditions however, we would like to meet you or a short interview to discuss your skills, aesthetic and area of interest.

For those interested in performing, all roles are open, with casting based on performance, interpretation, chemistry, and commitment rather than a predetermined type. Actors of all backgrounds, identities, and levels of experience are encouraged to audition. No preparation is necessary, sides will be provided and scripts are available upon request.

Fri Sept 18th from 12:00pm-2pm
*You do not have to stay the entire time and only need to attend one day.

Are you interested in film, storytelling, and Hawaiʻi’s history? 🎬

Join us in supporting HPU Multimedia Professor Jennifer Goya-Smith, whose non-narrative short film, Ordnance Ordinance (2012), will be featured in Kahoʻolawe Aloha ʻĀina, a special film program presented as part of I OLA KANALOA: 50 Years of Aloha ʻĀina.

The film program is part of a multi-venue exhibition running from August 15 through October 20, bringing together art, film, and public programming centered on Kahoʻolawe. The exhibition reflects on the island’s history, culture, and ongoing connection to community.
