✨ Mahalo nui loa to everyone who joined us for the Seminar Series on AI, Robots, Cybernetic Avatars, and the Economy!
Over three days, we explored how rapid advances in AI and robotics are reshaping labor markets and society. Our distinguished speakers—Russell Wong (Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond), Achyuta Adhvaryu (UC San Diego), Daniel Martin (UC Santa Barbara), and Daiji Kawaguchi (University of Tokyo)—shared cutting-edge research on technological unemployment, job search and AI, human responses to AI oversight, and the impacts of remote work on household roles.
Hosted by the Department of Economics, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Special thanks to the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST Moonshot Project) for their generous support! Thanks also to project members Tatsuma Wada (Keio University) and Rui Ota (Meiji University) for joining us!
This important conversation on AI, work, and the future of our economy will continue—and we look forward to building on the insights shared during this workshop. 🌐🤝
