UH Giving Day is here, and I invite each of you to be part of an impactful moment for our Kapiʻolani Community College. Across our campus, faculty, staff, and our partners at the UH Foundation have been working hard to lift up initiatives (listed below) that directly support our students and strengthen our community. I extend my sincere mahalo to everyone who has contributed their time and energy to build this momentum.
Kapiʻolani CC Enrichment Fund
The Kapi‘olani CC Enrichment Fund strengthens student success, educational innovation, and community engagement by supporting programs that reflect the college’s commitment to excellence and service.
Mullikin Endowed Scholarship
Support Kapi‘olani CC students by providing scholarship assistance that eases financial stress and helps learners stay focused on achieving their academic and career goals.
Hospitality Scholarship & Award
Power the next generation of Hawai‘i’s hospitality professionals by helping students access high‑quality training, hands‑on learning, and industry‑aligned opportunities in one of the state’s signature fields.
Business, Legal, & Technology Fund
Advance our homegrown talent pipeline for high-impact, living-wage careers right here in the islands. Your gift drives strategic engagement initiatives, career events, and alumni outreach to transform prospective students into career-ready professionals in the business, legal and technology fields.
Student Wellness
Support student wellness through programs and services that promote mental health, well‑being, and belonging, strengthening every learner’s ability to thrive in Kapi‘olani CC’s diverse campus ‘ohana, and provide emergency assistance to students affected by disasters or other urgent needs that threaten their ability to stay enrolled and succeed.
Health Career Program Fund
Power Hawai‘i’s future healthcare workforce by supporting rigorous training, lab experiences, and student resources across Kapi‘olani CC’s acclaimed health programs.
Ke Aloha ʻĀina! The Native Hawaiian Plant Fund
Support Kapiʻolani CC’s future through aloha ʻāina. This fund advances ʻāina‑based learning and the restoration of Hawaiian plants across campus, strengthening students’ connection to place, culture, and kuleana. In celebration of the college’s 80th anniversary, gifts support the planting and ongoing care of 80 native trees — creating living classrooms that nurture ʻike, community, and kinship with Lāʻau Hawaiʻi. Donors are invited to take part by planting a tree in honor of 80 years of education at Kapiʻolani CC. Mahalo e nā hoaʻāina.
Every contribution, at any level, helps expand access, deepen student support, and create the conditions to achieve our strategic priorities. The initiatives highlighted this year reflect the heart of who we are and who we aspire to be as Kapiʻolani Community College in service to Hawaiʻi.
Among our initiatives, I am pleased to share that I established a matching challenge for our Campus Enrichment Fund to amplify our collective impact. This fund supports activities and opportunities that benefit the entire Kapiʻolani CC community (i.e. you!) each year and directly advances our Strategic Plan priority of cultivating a Thriving and Sustainable Campus Culture. Your participation will help unlock additional resources and extend the reach of these efforts.
Please help us build energy across our communities and share this opportunity to explore the featured initiatives with your colleagues, your networks, and our broader community.
Mahalo nui for all that you do and for being part of this collective effort.
With gratitude,
Chancellor Misaki Takabayashi
