ART 229 - Interface Design 1
This Spring 2026 the New Media Arts Program (NMA) at Kapiʻolani Community College is offering courses in graphic design and web design, such as ART 229 Interface Design 1, an introductory-level User Interface Design (UI) course for designing custom websites, including related concepts from Information Architecture (IA), User Experience Design (UX), and User-Centered-Design (UCD).
In this hands-on course, students use Figma to layout content for multiple screen sizes, embrace best practices by choosing appropriate design patterns, explore navigational systems and menus, and synthesize the design to ultimately create an intuitive interface and enjoyable user experience that meets the needs and requirements for clients and target audiences.
This hybrid online class is accessible either remotely via Zoom or in-person in a computer lab on campus, or any combination that best suits your schedule. Level up your creativity while learning graphic design and web design in New Media Arts Interface Design Classes.
