This week, we’re featuring Isaiah Nichols-Floyd, MBA ’25, who is now working in Japan as a Global Marketing and Communications Lead at Solizeオンライン3dプリント.

In his role, Isaiah works alongside the global strategy management team to help develop worldwide marketing strategies — from conducting market research to building campaigns across multiple channels and collaborating with teams around the globe.

One piece of advice Isaiah shares with students:
“If your goal is to go abroad, build a strategy to get there and stay focused on it. It’s okay to be flexible, but make the right adjustments to reach that goal.”

While at The Shidler College of Business, one of Isaiah’s favorite projects was his independent study research exploring Japan’s increase in the food consumer price index and its possible correlation with labor demand in the agriculture sector.

And when it comes to life in Japan? Isaiah says one of his favorite foods is curry udon, with a favorite spot located in Wakayama-ken 🍜

Congratulations, Isaiah! We’re proud to see our alumni making an impact around the world 🌏

Congratulations to Chia Yun “Mercy” Cheng, BBA ’26, who graduated this past Saturday from the Shidler College of Business with a degree in marketing.

Originally from Taiwan, Mercy’s journey at UH Mānoa has been one of growth, confidence and leadership. Through her involvement as a New Rainbow Warrior peer leader and with the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship, where she served as a PACE Leader and student director for the Entrepreneurship Live program, Mercy found community while helping others do the same.

As she begins her next chapter, Mercy plans to remain in Hawaiʻi and pursue a career in marketing.

We are proud to celebrate Mercy and the many ways she represents the spirit of Shidler: curious, driven and ready to lead.
