Hurricane Ida - How to Help
I just received this email and I know some of you have been asking so thought I would copy it here for anyone who wants to help. Conversely, if you need help, please reach out as well.
Here's the email from the Tulane University Alumni Association:
Dear Tulane Community,
We are so grateful for the outpouring of care and concern from Tulanians around the world in response to Hurricane Ida and the impact on our students, our faculty and staff, and on New Orleans and the gulf south region. While we cannot minimize the disruption and the damage, we are emboldened by the resilience and spirit of our community. We will get through these challenges and know that Tulane will emerge, ever stronger and ever bolder.
For those of you struggling with us, our thoughts are with you, and we wish you the best.
Many of you have reached out, asking how you can play a part in our recovery; in response, we have established a Hurricane Relief Fund.
In the wake of a hurricane, needs are pressing, and this fund will immediately go to work. The Hurricane Relief Fund could help to address some of our most urgent challenges such as:
• Covering transportation costs for students to get home
• Support staff and faculty with their storm related needs
• Housing students temporarily
• Assisting students in financial need
• Supporting students’ research needs in affected laboratories
• Providing aid for frontline healthcare workers and medical residents
Our community is never more united than when faced with adversity and this is our opportunity to come together. I hope you will help Tulane — and Tulanians — recover by making a gift today.
