Aloha kākou,

In February 2016, we announced that Distance Learning is now a part of a new group within the Kamehameha Schools educational system. This transition provides us with the opportunity to focus on the exploration of digital innovations and allows us to broaden and diversify the reach of blended and online learning.

We are forever grateful to all who inspired us with their passion for learning and sharing Hawaiian culture and ʻōlelo. While it’s sad to say goodbye, we look forward to the future. If you would like to be informed about our upcoming innovative opportunities, sign up on our new mailing list.

It has been a pleasure these past nine years to aʻo aku, aʻo mai (share and learn) with all our learners. We want to mahalo our Aʻo Makua and Aʻo Kumu ʻohana who supported, inspired and shared their aloha with us. We hope you will continue to remain with us as we embark on the exploration of digital innovations.

The Queen Liliʻuokalani Trust made a $500,000 gift to establish the Queen Liliʻuokalani Distinguished Professorship in Native Hawaiian Culture at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work. This endowed professorship honors the life and legacy of Queen Liliʻuokalani, the last monarch of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi.

The Queen Liliʻuokalani Trust donated $500,000 to the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work.

Looking for a great FREE family event next weekend? Check out the Manu O Kū Festival.

The Manu o Kū are one of the most reliable indicators of land. They will typically fly out to sea in the morning to feed and return to land in the evening to rest. This daily routine Manu o Kū is helpful for wayfinders, who can steer the canoe towards their source in the morning or follow them home in the evening.

Activities, Contests, and Refreshments will be served.
