🌎 Day 1 of is in the books!

Our 2026 HBCU Environmental Justice Climate Corps cohort had the opportunity to meet and learn from Robert D. Bullard, founder of the Bullard Center and widely recognized as the father of environmental justice.

Dr. Bullard shared his journey in the environmental justice movement, reflected on the impact of the 18 books he has authored over the decades, and spoke about the importance of using research, data, and community engagement to create change. He also took time to meet each student individually, learn about their goals, and offer words of encouragement as they begin their EJCC journey.

This year's cohort brings together students from 15 HBCUs:
Bowie State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Savannah State University, Texas Southern University, Howard University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Spelman College, Florida A&M University, Tennessee State University, Morehouse College, Claflin University, Southern University, Alcorn State University, Alabama A&M University, and Tuskegee University.

We're excited to see what this next generation of environmental justice leaders will accomplish over the next five weeks. 🌱✊🏾
