Proud and humbled by the nomination to 4th Noguchi Africa Award 2025 by Government of Japan. The award carries a medal, citation and 1 Million Dollars purse and is in honor of Dr. Noguchi who worked in Africa in early nineteenth century on yellow fever and died serving people in Africa.

The government of Japan set up this award in 2006 and the winner of 4th Noguchi Africa Award shall be announced during TICAD 2025 meeting.

I am thankful to leaders and prominent personalities of 4 African countries who have supported my nomination. I have pledged the entire purse of 1 million dollars to be donated to a trust fund promoting needy students of which 75% will be towards girls and women.

It has been indeed a great privilege to be a keynote speaker and chair of one of the sessions and to represent The Gambia through AIUWA. Meeting with the Chief Guest, a Nobel Laureate (Physics, Quantum thermodynamics, 1999) was inspirational and humbling. Addressing VC's, high dignitaries was a proud moment for Africa in general and Gambia in particular.

Congratulations to the new student intake of May 2024. New intake comprises in 11 different faculties. We are getting on our prime age (was 40th new student intake where I presided). We look forward to establishing 2 new additional programs by end of this year!

Great progress in Sierra Leone. We shall start enrolling Bachelor of Nursing Science students directly from High school and RN to BSN program specializing in Midwifery, Psychiatry, Peri-operative and Anesthesia from September 2024. This could only be possible with great support and guidance from Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, The First Lady of Sierra Leone. Classrooms are ready and furnished with audio visual equipment, Manikins in Nursing Lab is ready, 50 unit Computer lab shall be installed in July, Faculty is being vetted. Website and University Management system shall be live in June. Appreciate amazing support from Commanding Officer of 34th Military Hospital. Forms shall be out in June.
