The Federalist Society, University of Houston Law Center Chapter

The Federalist Society, University of Houston Law Center Chapter A non-partisan conservative/libertarian organization dedicated to freedom, federalism, and judicial restraint. Fill out our interest form!

About Federalist Society:

Founded in 1982, the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies is a group of conservatives and libertarians dedicated to reforming the current legal order. The law students that founded the Society at Harvard Law School aimed to create a forum for debate in which diverse legal viewpoints and perspectives could be heard. We, the members of the University of Hou

ston Law Center Chapter, are committed to the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to determine what the law is, not what it should be. About the UHLC Chapter:

The UHLC Federalist Society Chapter, winner of the 2012-2013 Graduate Organization of the Year Award, is the number one student organization for intelligent discussion of pressing legal and public policy topics at the University of Houston. Throughout the school year, we host debates, lectures, and discussions featuring top scholars from UHLC and universities across the country. Our speakers also include federal judges, public interest litigators, practitioners, and government officials. We bring in the nation’s top experts to share their experiences and opinions with UHLC students, and to take your questions and hear your thoughts. What’s more, we usually offer free food for you to attend our events! Membership Information:
