Hey y'all.
I'm Sam Grosser, and I'm the master of the Upsilon Eta Chapter at the University of Houston. We're safe. All of the active and alumni brothers we know of in the Houston area are also safe. I want to thank all of you who've personally contacted me or contacted us through our this page or our Instagram page, and thank all of you who've had Houston in your thoughts and prayers.
Rush events that have been scheduled for this week are cancelled until further notice.
To those of you in Houston:
Stay safe, stay put. More flooding is yet to come. Make sure you have water and food for the next couple days. Make sure you know how to turn off your breakers in the case that water gets into your house. Take pictures of what you have in your house, and take pictures of how high the water gets. If water gets too high, get on your rooftop, not on your attic. Stay safe, stay put. Do not leave your house. Here are numbers for you to call if you need assistance.

For those of you who are in the city of Houston and would like to help those affected, there are many ways to do so.
If you are a medical professional, shelters need your help. George R. Brown Convention Center, and other shelters, are in dire need of assistance from medical professionals. If you can come safely, bring your badge and scrubs. If you can’t make it to GRB, you can call local shelters who need you just as much
You can donate blood at multiple locations.
Donations to local shelters are much appreciated- medicine, baby formula, canned food, and other such things are needed.
For now, staying safe is the most important thing for you to do though.
For those of you who are not in the city of Houston and would like to help those affected, you can donate. Please, for your safety, do not attempt to come to Houston or navigate the streets.
I recommend you donate to Mayor Turner’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund at http://ghcf.org/hurricane-relief/.
As there are updates to our chapter, they will be posted on our chapter’s official media pages. Follow our Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/uh_aepi/ or our Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/University-of-Houston-AEPI-254556101292996/
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
Fraternally,
Sam Grosser
