Mike Cherubino, Will Rice College's beloved 1987 President, was known to so many for his outsized love and booming, contagious laughter. We were saddened to hear of his unexpected passing and are sending thoughts and prayers to his family. He was known simply as "Bino" to everyone who knew him or knew of him, because like Sting or Prince or Bono, a one-word moniker is all it took to instantly be an admiring fan. With the support and strength of Edie and the kids, we want to ensure his jovial , kind spirit and laughter endure at Rice for ever more.

His fellow alumni, friends, and family are establishing a memorial fund in his honor to ensure both love and laughter are always echoing and amplified across Rice's campus and in the Will Rice College commons.

I would like to match all donations made through the date of Mike's memorial service on January 28, up to 10,000 dollars and challenging those who shared his joy to contribute, in his memory, to inviting generations of students to know his outsized legacy.
