Texas A&M Institute of Biosciences and Technology is proud to announce that Dr. Jiang Chang has been selected as the 2025 Thomas Smith Memorial Lecturer by the American Heart Association. This lecture was established in 1997 by the Council on Basic Science to honor Dr. Thomas W. Smith, a pioneer in the application of biochemical, cellular, and molecular approaches to investigative cardiac contractility. Congratulations to 3rd-year student, Javier Villela, for receiving a travel grant to attend the 12th IMO Workshop on Toxicity in Tampa, FL! ✨🎉 The award was sponsored by the Moffitt Cancer Center, the Center for Excellence for Evolutionary Therapy, and the NCI-funded Cancer Systems Biology Consortium.
His team, which also includes postdoc Dr. Pujan Shrestha - both from Dr. Jason George's lab, won with their project, Personalizing Radiation Oncology to Mitigate Side Effects (PROMiSE), and received a $50,000 grant to kickstart the project!
