Rice University's Class of 2008 is championing a fight against food insecurity this year for our 15th reunion.

When Reunion Year Co-Chair Annie learned that Rice has students struggling with food insecurity, she felt heartbroken and embarrassed. How is it that any students at Rice, with an endowment of $8.1 billion are going hungry?

We are proud to announce that members of the Class of 2008 have partnered with Rice Development and the Student Success Initiative to create a fund specifically for this cause: the Food Insecurity Fund.

The purpose of the fund is to support food insecurity efforts for Rice students, which includes but is not limited to providing meal swipes/meal plans, granting student financial requests for groceries, or purchasing food for the Student Success Initiatives Pantry. I am honored to be part of the class fighting to end food insecurity at Rice.

To contribute, click the link and select "Food Insecurity Fund" from the dropdown menu.

Where will my donation go?
$2750 - one on-campus meal plan (375 meals/semester + $100 Tetra points)
$1450 - one off-campus meal plan, 2 meals/day (170 meals/semester + $100 Tetra points)
$800 - one off-campus meal plan, 1 meal/day (85 meals/semester + $100 Tetra points)
$100 - 100 Tetra points (about 10 meals on campus)
$60 - An average student's grocery request
$25 - about 2 meals on campus
