Description of Positions
President
The President shall serve as the chief executive officer of the organization, shall preside at all meetings of the organization and shall prepare the agenda for meetings consistent with member agenda items. The President shall be the official spokesperson of the organization, representing the policies, views, and opinions of the organization in its relations with the campus and community at large. The President shall appoint all committees and committee chairs. The President shall be an ex officio member of all committees. The President shall have such further powers and duties as may be prescribed by the organization.
Vice-President
The Vice President shall be responsible for assisting the President and other Directors with responsibilities. The Vice President will provide guidance in decision making process and make sure the decisions align with the over goals of the group and also assist the President in planning meetings. The Vice President will assist the President in appointing all committees and committee chairs. The Vice President shall also be an ex officio member of all committees.
Director of Finance
The Director of Finance shall handle all financial affairs and budgeting of the organization, maintain all necessary accounting records, and prepare monthly financial reports for the membership. The Director of Finance shall collect and deposit all dues and fees. The Director of Finance shall maintain bank accounts in the organization’s name, requiring signatures of both the Director of Finance and President for authorized disbursements. The Director will also maintain a pay pal account for the organization.
Director of Communications
The Director of Communications shall take minutes at all meetings of the organization and issue them in a timely manner. The Director of Communications will also be responsible for the distribution of information of all internal and external communications as required and under the guidance of the Vice President and in coordination with the respective Director of the organization.
Director of Planning
The Director of Planning is responsible for planning important educational events for members related to supply chain management. Examples of this are presentations from companies, site visits and learning sessions. These events should create a positive value in terms of education and networking.
Director of Projects
The Director of Projects will be responsible for finding and arranging participation of the organization and its interested members in one annual major project to help support local businesses and enhance the value of the organization to its members. Director of Projects will plan, implement, participate and oversee the whole process. The projects must be supply chain focused.
Director of Competitions
The Director of Competitions is responsible for getting the organization and its membership informed and involved in the national competitions pertaining to supply chain management. The Director of competitions must arrange participation of the organization and its interested members. They must also communicate the rules and calendar of the competitions.
Director of Marketing
The Director of Marketing shall be responsible for designing and implementing the marketing plan, drafting and disseminating newsletters, designing and disseminating publications for events. Social Networking will be a responsibility as well. This entails the creating, updating and managing of but not limited to a website, LinkedIn and page for the organization as required.
Director of Events
The Director of Events will work closely with other officers to plan and execute socio-professional events for the organization. These events must aim at bringing together the membership and supply chain professionals in a social setting so as to increase networking opportunities. The Director of Events should convene committees as needed and recruit help from the other officers and the general membership as needed and delegate tasks in order to accomplish all that is necessary.
