Jarrow Lodge of Mark Master Masons welcomed the Provincial Grand Master, David Hanson and his Provincial Team to Jarrow Masonic Hall. The friendly welcome was perfect on this chilly autumn evening.
Once in the Lodge, we were treated to the Mark Degree lecture which was wonderfullly performed by Ken Robson. The Deputy PGM then took to the floor to update everyone on the Festival and the Community Raffle which is being launched soon and supports both the Festival and the community groups themselves.
The friendship continued at the festive board where a splendid meal was enjoyed along with lots of banter between old and new friends.
The toast to the PGM was responded to by a rather croaky David Hanson, struggling with the bug brought back from Romania. David thanked the Lodge for their generous support of the Durham 2029 Festival and in turn presented the Lodge with their Platinum Award.
He went on to explain how the funds are used and that there are three new grants are being made in the Province. These are only possible because of the magnificent generous support from the brethren, and it really does make a difference and can even save lives.
It has been a splendid evening of friendship and fellowship in a wonderfully ornate Masonic Hall.
