Congratulations to Maya on her graduation from the University of Houston! During her time as Sasha, Maya helped create countless memories for Cougar fans while representing the university with spirit, pride, and a love for the Cougar community, that’s what made Maya such an incredible Sasha!
Maya graduates from the College of Education with a degree in Teaching & Learning EC-6 Bilingual Generalist and a minor in Business Administration.
Her energy and love for this team could be seen in her every performance appearance, and event.
“To the UH Mascot Program,
It is hard to put into words what these last two years have meant to me. Being part of this program has been one of the greatest honors of my college experience, and I will always be grateful for every memory, lesson, and friendship that came from it.
When I first stepped into this role, I knew I was becoming Sasha, but I did not realize how much I would grow into myself along the way. Through every appearance, challenge, laugh, and unforgettable moment, this program helped shape me into a more confident and resilient person. I truly learned to grow into the Sasha that was there all along.
Thank you for believing in me, pushing me, supporting me, and giving me a place where I found lifelong memories and people I will always cherish.
As I say goodbye, I do so with so much love and gratitude. Thank you for helping me grow into the person I am today.
