Thanks to the MAD Scientist Associates, LLC Burn Boss Cody Wright & crew for visiting again in 2026 to conduct a controlled burn of two of our fields in late April. The Farm has also worked with the MAD Scientists this past year to conduct a two-season, "bioblitz" species inventory of all ten of the University Farm's fields. We now have a comprehensive list of our woody and herbaceous plants as well as a list of wildlife observed onsite! Using this data, we will continue exploring restoration options for our wild areas and further develop our management plan.

It’s chilly out in today’s gloomy weather, but all those April showers brought us the both May flowers and the arrival of summer hours!

Our outdoor grounds are now open from 7am-8pm through the end of September, when evening hours will be reduced once again to align with the decreased daylight of fall and winter for the safety of visitors, residents, and staff.

As a reminder for the warmer season, all dogs must be leashed *at all times* in accordance with local ordinances, foraging and fishing are not permitted, and we ask that you mind all other signage regarding trail access, research areas, and biting insects, etc.

Happy Trails!
