We are a cohesive community of interesting, inquisitive, hardworking, and fun individuals who think deeply about who we are meant to be. We come to this place of stunning natural beauty—this oasis in the woods—because it provides for us the perfect backdrop for reflecting upon, deciding upon, and designing our individual pathways to rewarding careers and lives of meaning and happiness. Each of us

has our own story and way of looking at the world. And yet we meet as friends—and partners—whether we are students, professors, staff, alumni, or community members. We support each other’s journeys. We learn from and with each other. And we take Juniata with us no matter where we go. We believe there is no better place on the planet for discovering your passions, developing your intellect and your heart, and ultimately becoming the author of your own powerful story. Think About Who You Are

Kenya: Culture, Challenges and Natural Resources immersed students in the landscapes, communities, and conservation efforts that shape the country today. Led by Alison Fletcher and Uma Ramakrishnan, the program blended fieldwork, homestays, and visits to national parks, NGOs, and cultural sites to explore how ecosystems, culture, and community development are deeply connected.

Kaitlyn Granger ’21 recently brought her work “Vessels in Balance: Tracing the Currents of Invasive Species” to Rothrock Outfitters, co-owned by Harry Biddle ’20 and Emil Eklund ’17, sharing a hand-painted canoe created during her Raystown Field Station Artist-in-Residence experience.

Rooted in her work as a Juniata staff member and her continued engagement as an alum, the piece explores the movement and impact of invasive species through a lens of art, ecology, and place-based learning.

The work will be presented again at noon on Friday, June 26, at the Huntingdon County Library, extending its reach into the broader community.

Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in American history—the recognition of freedom long delayed. On June 19, 1865, Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and carried news to the enslaved African Americans that they were free and that the Civil War had ended.

As we observe Juneteenth, we reflect on the meaning of freedom, recognize the significance of this day in our nation's history, and honor its enduring legacy.

In observance of Juneteenth, the college will be closed today.

The Future of Care Begins With You.

For Molly Romanini ’29, nursing is about showing up for people when they need it most.

“Nursing is truly about caring for people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives and making a meaningful difference every day you show up to work.”

At Juniata College, our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program prepares students to become advocates, caregivers, and leaders in healthcare through hands-on clinical experiences and a strong liberal arts foundation rooted in compassion, communication, and critical thinking.

Make Future You a Patient Advocate.
