Welcome to Science Nite!

Many of us remember the dreadful days of chemistry, biology and, dare I say it, physics! Well, the Rotary Club of Huntington Beach and Golden West College have teamed to try to not only demystify science but to maybe, just maybe help kids like it.

Huntington Beach Rotary and GWC will host Science Nite, a free event that is open to the public to get grade-school kids (and their families) interested in science with the hopes that someday those impressionable minds will consider careers using math and science. And this is definitely no boring textbook snooze-fest.

Guests will have access to interactive exhibits, including attractions such as Collect DNA, Learn about marine life, Control a robot, Create exploding Gummy Bears, Use a microscope to see your cells, Generate electricity, Physics fun, See animals in our zoology lab, Make slime, Study bones on a skeleton, plus much more!

Congratulations to GWC's Teacher of the Year for 2023 Keisha Cosand! 🎉 🙌

Here's what Keisha's students have to say about her:

"Her kindness and passion drove my motivation to do well in her class. The experience [I had] in her class is ... something that I'll hold on to for life."

"Such a warm, inviting, and intelligent professor. She knows SO much about literature, and you walk away from class learning and thinking more deeply than you thought you were capable of. "

"Keisha Cosand is an amazing teacher. If you want to improve your writing, get great advice on education, and laugh along the way TAKE [HER] CLASS. The girl who sang on stage with Sting has inspired me to be a great student." 🥹
