The friends you make in college are strong, but any medical school alumnus will tell you, the friends made during the late-night study sessions and clinical rotations are some of the strongest. 💚

Dr. R. Mark Hatfield and his wife, Monica, have honored the memory of one of those friends, Dr. John G. Boswell, with an endowed to the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. The scholarship supports entering first-year medical students from Mercer, Mingo, Lincoln, Logan or McDowell counties in West Virginia.

It was a weekend of service for Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine students! 💚

From volunteering at the 3rd Annual Hope Blooms Brunch and Family Fashion Show to providing care and health resources through Marshall Medical Outreach - MMO, our students (and Dean) spent the weekend making a difference.

Whether supporting families on their recovery journey, connecting individuals with important health services and screenings or gaining hands-on experience serving others, these opportunities reflect the compassion, dedication and commitment to service that define our students.
