A.E. Stringer Visiting Writers Series at Marshall University

A.E. Stringer Visiting Writers Series at Marshall University The A.E. In 2012, the series was renamed in Professor Emeritus Stringer’s honor as the A.E. Stinger Visiting Writers Series.

Stringer Visiting Writers Series invites renowned and relevant authors to Marshall University, hosted by The Department of English in the fall and spring semesters. In 1989, Professor Art Stringer founded Marshall University’s Visiting Writers Series (VWS), a program that invites 6-8 authors every academic year to Marshall University, meet and talk to students and to the community, and to give pub

lic readings. The readings are always free and open to the public. Our goal is to encourage a vital conversation about writing between writers, students at Marshall University, disciplines on campus, and the larger communities in and around Huntington, WV
