Congratulations to TLA member Rose Brock on receiving the American Library Association's Scholastic Library Publishing Award! Inviting all alumni to join the new Bearkat Librarians Book Club! We will meet monthly via Zoom so no matter where you are, you can join us for both book chats (any current books you’ve read that would make great additions to school libraries), followed by a discussion of that month’s selected book (selections will be nominated and voted on by alumni participating). Reading of the month’s selected book not required. We hope to see you on July 24th!

Hello, Bearkat Librarians!

With TLA just around the corner, and on behalf of SHSU Library Science, we wanted to reach out and let you know that a favorite part of each year's conference is seeing our alumni and students. Because of our collective professional obligations with presentations and meetings, a lack of enough faculty at conference to fully staff a booth throughout the conference, and the rising costs of being an exhibitor, we won't have a dedicated space in the exhibit hall, but we would still love to see you and celebrate all the good you are doing for kids and school libraries!

Please join us on Thursday, April 18th at Rhein House Prost (see posted invitation). It’s very close to the
convention center, and we'll be there from 3:30-5:30 in the bar area or patio (depending on weather) and hope y'all swing by to say hi, catch up, and let us know how you are doing and what we can do to continue to support you.

Also, if you have a teacher with you for TLA's Teacher Day, bring them, and if my invitation misses any Library Science Bearkats alumni friends of yours, please sn**ch them up and have them join us.

Due to busy conference calendars, schedule conflicts, and less faculty attending TLA, we are not hosting a formal alumni event at TLA and will not have a booth this year; rather, we've decided we want to invite you to pop by and join us for a come and go visit at :

Moonshine Grill, steps away from the Austin Convention Center.

We'll be hanging out at the patio bar starting at 2:45 (ish) to 5:00 on Friday, April 21st.
