Save the date! This event is open to all PSI alumni, students, staff, faculty and their families.

Join us as we celebrate the 30th and 25th anniversaries of the Public Safety Institute. This reunion also supports scholarship funding for future recruits, firefighters, EMS personnel and paramedics who will carry the profession forward.

The reunion is free to attend. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

On April 29, 2026, Sergeant Roneice McHenry responded to a medical emergency involving a student experiencing a severe allergic reaction at the Blue River Campus. With the student unable to self-administer her prescribed epinephrine and EMS delayed, Sergeant McHenry quickly recognized the urgency of the situation and administered the student’s EpiPen, helping stabilize her condition and ultimately saving her life. By the time paramedics arrived, the student’s condition had significantly improved, allowing for a more controlled transport.

Following the incident, Sergeant McHenry also comforted students who witnessed the emergency and contacted the students’ parents to provide reassurance and hospital information. In recognition of her professionalism, compassion, courage, and “student first” mindset, Sergeant McHenry (pictured left) received the MCCPD Lifesaving Award from Chief Jamerson (pictured right) at the Blue River PAC meeting on May 6, 2026.
