🏉 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT | HUNTER BRANHAM

Some players spend their college careers learning what it takes to win.

Hunter Branham arrived already knowing.

A Pendleton, Indiana native, Hunter came to Marian Rugby after a championship high school career at Pendleton, where he helped bring home state titles and developed an expectation for winning.

At Marian, Hunter has been a dynamic presence on the pitch. Athletic, explosive, and dangerous with the ball, he has the ability to change a match in a moment. When Hunter finds space, things happen.

But there’s still one piece of hardware missing.

He’s won at the state level. He’s experienced big matches. Now, entering his final season in a Marian jersey, Hunter has his eyes on the one prize that would complete the story:

🏆 A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

The hunger is there. The opportunity is here.

From Westfield, Indiana, Hayden Netral enters his senior season with plenty of confidence, ability, fearless drive, and tattoos.

Off the pitch, Hayden has already started building the next chapter of his life. This summer, he got engaged to Lexi 💍, and we couldn’t be happier for them as they begin planning their future together.

One last season. One last chance to leave his mark — and maybe room for one more tattoo when it’s over. ⚔️🏉

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT | PATRICK MATTHEWS

Not every player leaves his mark on a program through tries, tackles, or what shows up on the stat sheet.

For Patrick Matthews of Carmel, Indiana, his impact has always been about something more.

Patrick may be one of the quieter guys in the room, but you can almost always count on seeing him with a smile on his face. Whether he’s helping on the sidelines, showing up for his teammates, or just being Patrick at a team social, he has found his place within Marian Rugby.

Rugby hasn’t always come easily to Patrick, but he kept showing up. And there’s something to be said for that.

For Patrick, this team became much more than a group of guys he played rugby with. They became his brothers. A place where he belonged, where he could be himself, and where he knew he was part of something bigger.

Four years from now, nobody will remember every score or every lineup. But they’ll remember the teammates who were there, who smiled, who helped, and who genuinely cared about the people around them.

Patrick is one of those teammates.

We’re proud that Patrick found his place with the Knights — and even more grateful that Marian Rugby became a place he could call home.
