This year's event was a remarkable reflection of the values that define Phi Kappa Theta—Brotherhood, service, leadership, and a commitment to making a lasting impact. Through your hard work, dedication, and generosity, you created an unforgettable evening that brought together Brothers, families, friends, and supporters in celebration of our shared mission.

We applaud the leadership of President Mark Dziadul, Gala Director Alex Zepeda, and the many Brothers who dedicated countless hours to planning and executing such a successful event. The recognition of scholarship recipients, the inspiring remarks from keynote speaker and newly initiated Brother Chris Mahoney, and the celebration of Brotherhood throughout the evening made the Gala a truly memorable occasion.

Most notably, the renaming of the Annual Gala in honor of Brother Luther “Lou” Luera serves as a powerful tribute to a Brother whose vision, leadership, and devotion helped shape this event and strengthen the Alamo Alumni Association. His legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire Brothers for years to come.

The success of this year's Gala demonstrates the strength of the Alamo Alumni Association and its unwavering dedication to advancing the mission of Phi Kappa Theta. Your efforts are making a meaningful difference in the lives of students, alumni, and the communities you serve.

Today, we’re proud to officially welcome Stephan as he begins his first day as Executive Director of Phi Kappa Theta!

Stephan assumed his role after previously serving the fraternity with distinction as Director of Fraternal Operations. Prior to that, he dedicated his career to higher education as a campus-based Student Affairs professional following the completion of his Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel from Ohio University in 2009.

Initiated as a brother of the Ohio Psi Chapter in 2002, Stephan brings a deep-rooted commitment to Phi Kappa Theta. His extensive service includes time on the National Board of Trustees as a UGAC member, facilitating regional and national conferences, and advising local chapters across the country.

As Stephan steps into this role, his first major priority will be connecting with our key constituents and alumni—including members of the Grand Chapter—to strengthen relationships and continue advancing our mission.
Beyond the fraternity, Stephan serves as a Trustee of the Ohio Youth Leadership Initiative Fund, has spent over 20 years on the staff of the American Legion Buckeye Boys State program, and remains actively involved in his community.

He resides in Perrysburg, Ohio with his wife, Dr. Crystal Oechsle (Delta Gamma), and their children, Kensley and Arnold.

Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity Announces Stephan Oechsle as Incoming Executive Director

Indianapolis, IN — May 20, 2026 — Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity is pleased to announce that Stephan Oechsle has been selected as the organization’s next Executive Director by the Fraternity’s Board of Trustees. Oechsle will officially assume his role on June 1, 2026, bringing with him a wealth of leadership experience and a strong commitment to advancing the mission and values of Phi Kappa Theta.

Founded on the principles of Fraternity, Society, Intellectualism, Spirituality, and Leadership, Phi Kappa Theta continues to build upon its rich tradition of developing men who lead with purpose. Oechsle’s appointment marks an important step forward as the Fraternity continues implementing its strategic vision, The Next Chapter, which focuses on strengthening chapters, enhancing member development, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Stephen’s selection reflects confidence in his leadership, vision, and ability to guide Phi Kappa Theta into its next phase of growth. His experience and passion for fraternal values and Phi Kappa Theta make him exceptionally well-suited to support our undergraduate and alumni members, while also strengthening our operational foundation.

Oechsle brings a strong background in organizational leadership and strategic management, along with a deep understanding of the fraternal experience and the transformative impact it can have on young men’s lives. His professional experience, legacy with the fraternity, and alignment with Phi Kappa Theta’s mission position him to effectively lead the Fraternity’s national operations and elevate its impact across campuses nationwide.

As Executive Director, Oechsle will oversee the day-to-day management of Phi Kappa Theta’s national organization, working closely with staff, volunteers, alumni, and undergraduate leaders. His leadership comes at a pivotal time for Phi Kappa Theta, as the Fraternity continues to expand its programs, strengthen its chapters, and invest in initiatives that support the personal and professional development of its members.
