“Without a struggle, there can be no progress” – Frederick Douglass
“Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is
made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons
nor property will be safe” – Frederick Douglass
"Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk
humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it " -
The Talmud
“Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the

The Desmond Tutu Peace Lab was created to address conflicts and injustices that are prevalent in the U.S.
