“Leadership sometimes opens doors you never expected! Serving as vice president recruitment for Alpha Chi Omega’s Theta Tau chapter taught me how to communicate with intention, build relationships and represent something bigger than myself. Those skills carried directly into my experience as a buying intern at Bloomingdale’s, where collaboration, networking and confidence are everything.

One of my favorite full-circle moments was meeting a fellow Alpha Chi sister from TCU during the internship. This was proof that sisterhood truly spans far beyond campus. I am grateful for the leadership lessons, the community and the opportunities that came from stepping into roles that challenged me to grow!”

Today we are showcasing a story from Cate Calderon, a sister from the Theta Iota chapter at Baylor University. Read what she has to share about her time as an Alpha Chi:

“Alpha Chi Omega is the lifeblood of my college experience and has been a place where I’ve found a deep sense of purpose, friendship and belonging. I’ve been able to tap into sides of campus life in ways I never thought possible. Together, my sisters and I have been able to serve our community and get more involved with our university’s traditions. The skills Alpha Chi has taught me have transferred to the classroom, job field and beyond. I have become a better leader, student and person because of my involvement within Alpha Chi.

My college experience has been completely altered by the phenomenal women Alpha Chi has placed in my life. They are resilient, gracious and inspiring, and being a part of their lives is an indescribable privilege. I’m forever grateful for the indelible impact Alpha Chi has had on my college experience and continues to have on my life!”
