The Community Solutions podcast hosted its first international interview with Ms. Maram Taibah, a gifted filmmaker who created a short film in tribute to her brother who is disabled. Ms. Taibah lives in Saudi Arabia and is working hard to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities and their families into communities. Check out episode 14 to learn more about her work!

Dr. Lisa Staten presenting at the IU Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI’s Research Ignite Forum series, giving us an insight into the Diabetes Impact Project.

Dr. Lisa Staten is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department at the Indiana University Fairbanks School of Public Health at IUPUI. She is also an Associate Director of the Community Health Partnership (CHeP) of the Indiana Clinical Translational Sciences Institute (https://www.indianactsi.org/chep/). Prior to coming to Indiana, Dr. Staten was at the University of Arizona where she worked with community partners along the US-Mexico border to reduce risk factors for diabetes in Latino communities. The overarching theme of Dr. Staten’s research is improving health equity through community engagement.
