BUTLER SPEECH AND LANGUAGE CLINIC
For the fall semester of 2014, we were able to have our first speech therapy sessions using tele practice. This is an up and coming use of technology to deliver services via live web based methods and it was a resounding success for both the student and the client, a 7 year old boy. Steven Gianakas, senior student clinician in CSD met weekly with Isaac and provided speech therapy using skype. The client's mother noted that this has been "such a big help and so successful". This family has four children who are homeschooled and it was beneficial to obtain services using this method. This family had previously received on campus speech therapy; however, when they moved farther away, it was a great convenience to have the ability to work online. Our clinic at Butler University is one of the first in the state of Indiana to use this method of service delivery.

Hey fellow SLP's A friend is looking to carpool from Indy to ASHA. She has offered to pay for the gas for the ride! For those of you that worked at RCDC with me, it is Julie Malone - Dr. John Rau's daughter. And just let me tell you - I didn't know her before carpooling with her one other time and we had a blast!
