There will be music provided by Mr. Kinetik, live performances and a conversation so strong we had to open the full bar.
The main event? A conversation on gender. What does being a black male or black female even mean? What are our "roles" and have they created an impasse or division when we don't meet those expectations? Can a black person not conform to a gender binary and still have a place in "the community"? If you're black and q***r, does that excuse or preclude gender norms? Let's break it down with a panel guaranteed to turn the mics into pipe bombs!:
Author Tami Winfrey Harris; Executive Director of The Flanner House, Brandon Cosby; poet, activist and founder of Vocab, Tatjana Rebelle; from Brother's United, Terrell Parker; licensed family and marriage therapist, Jessica Gordon and from Butler University's Bust the Bubble, Anthony Murdock III
Facilitated and co-moderated by Theon Lee Jones and Chantel Massey!!
