Tri Delta was founded at Boston University on November 27th, 1988 by two women who were looking to create a sorority that would consider the whole character of the women that sought to be its members. Sarah Ida Shaw and Eleanor Dorcas Pond were soon joined by Florence Isabelle Stewart and Isabel Morgan Breed to create the first chapter of Delta Delta Delta. The founders sought to maintain high ide
als and standards and to encourage intellectual growth in order to exemplify college women at their best. The Delta Lambda chapter of Tri Delta was founded on May 18th, 1914. Edith Webb was the first president of the Delta Lambda chapter at that time. We briefly left campus in the β90s, but we were reinstated in 2005. Our chapter continues to focus on the ideals of leadership, academic excellence, and personal values and standards that the chapter was founded upon. Tri Delta offers all of its members the lifelong bonds of sisterhood. We use one letter, three times over, because our letters are the same both ways; when you look at them in the mirror, you see them in their true form, representing that in Tri Delta, we show true reflections of ourselves.
