As a campus, we spent April planting trees, fixing broken belongings, tracking our waste, and giving a second life to donated items. Between bike repairs and committing to new sustainable routines, it was a truly rewarding month.

If you have items you aren’t taking with you, consider donating them instead of throwing them away.

OK to donate
- Gently used or new clothing
- Electronics that still work correctly
- Furniture that is still functional
- Unopened, non-expired food
- Kitchen or coooking equipment
- Clean bedding and towels Trash

Not OK to donate
- Trash
- Broken, stained, or damaged items
- Ripped, stained, or intimate clothing
- Open or expired food
- Dirty or ripped bedding and towels
- Pillows and mattress toppers

The Spring Stuff Swap is almost here! 🎉                                                                                                                                
Join IU Indianapolis Office of Sustainability for our annual waste diversion event, where students, faculty, and staff can shop donated items for FREE!
 
Find clothes, shoes, books, home goods, small appliances, and more! Everything has been donated by fellow Jags and is up for grabs on a first come, first serve basis.

What happens after you drop your recyclable materials in the blue bin? 🧐

Today, our team got a behind-the-scenes tour of Republic’s Materials Recovery Facility (MRF)! We followed the recycling process from drop-off to sorting, right up to the point where they are bundled up and shipped out to become brand-new products.

Thank you to for hosting us and showing us where our campus recycling goes!
