**Motivation Monday | Labor Day 🇺🇸**

“And also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man.” — Ecclesiastes 3:13

Today, we honor the work of our hands—and remember that we were never created only to work.

There is purpose in our labor, but there is also purpose in **rest, renewal, and gratitude**.

On this Labor Day, may we give thanks for those whose work strengthens our families and communities, while making space to pause and care for the soul.

**Work with purpose. Rest with intention. Begin again renewed.**

Labor Day reminds us to pause and honor the work that came before us. The same is true for the legacy of Black preaching, generations of labor, study, and sacrifice that made today's voices possible.

Join Christian Theological Seminary for **Spiritual Care for Religious Nones**, a free online webinar featuring **Ben Iten**, President of The Humanist Society, Humanist Chaplain, and Certified Educator in Clinical Pastoral Education.

Atheists, agnostics, and those who are religiously unaffiliated are often grouped together as “religious nones,” but their understandings of meaning, identity, and the world can be significantly different. This conversation will explore those differences and consider approaches to spiritual care that support people through existential reflection and life transitions.

Meet the newest Growing in God’s Word cohort!

We’re excited to welcome our second cohort of faith leaders to Christian Theological Seminary as they begin a journey of learning, collaboration, and imagination around what it means to more fully center children in the worship life of the Church.

Through Growing in God’s Word, our participants will explore child-centered biblical storytelling, children as spiritual persons, and creative approaches to multigenerational worship—then bring that learning home to their own ministry communities.

We celebrate each of these leaders and the congregations and communities they represent. We can’t wait to see what takes root through their time together!

As Dr. Kincaid reflects on what first brought him to seminary, we’re reminded that while the world around us changes, the questions that call us toward deeper learning, faithful leadership, and service continue to matter.

Every seminary journey begins somewhere—with a question, a calling, a curiosity, or a desire to make a difference.

**Motivation Monday 🌿**

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

A new week often arrives with a list of things demanding our attention—work to accomplish, people to care for, decisions to make, and places to be.

But before the doing, there is an invitation to simply **be**.

To be still.
To listen.
To make room for God’s presence.
To care for the soul that carries you through it all.

As you begin this week, remember: **rest is not separate from the work. Reflection is not wasted time. Caring for your soul prepares you to care well for others.**

May you find moments of stillness, renewal, and grace in the week ahead.
