Happy First Year Friday! Today we are welcoming Kaya Howell (she/her), a Theatre major from Avon, Indiana with a minor in Spanish. Let’s get to know Kaya!
*
She chose Butler “because of the future opportunities she could access and because of the tight-knit community on/off campus”
*
While at Butler, she is “excited to learn as much as possible during her four years here, explore her passions and interests, and to make connections/relationships that will last”
*
A fun fact about Kaya is that she is teaching herself a third language while also studying Spanish in school!

Did you know that our upcoming production of Clarvoe's "The Living" is not the first time this show was seen on campus? 🤔 The Edyvean Repertory Theatre produced The Living at CTS' Shelton Auditorium in October 1995! They even brought in playwright Anthony Clarvoe to see the production and give a talk! Here are some photos from the memorable production.

Our Butler Theatre production of The Living will be produced in Clowes Memorial Hall on Friday Feb 26th, in person and livestreamed!

“Matt is so full of life. Every time I see him, he's exploding with an energy that's so "Matt". His smile brightens up a room, and I'm so grateful to get to know him, especially this semester. He's an extremely talented actor, and working with him in literally every production he's been in so far has been an absolute pleasure. I'm so proud of him, for getting to play so many different kinds of characters and show the world just how talented and multi-dimensional he is. I'm sure he will continue to do great things, for Butler mainstages and for the world. When he graduates, he'll hit the professional world like a force of nature, and I'm so excited to see it.“

Our secret spotlight for the week is Matt Witress, a sophomore Theatre major with an emphasis in Musical Theatre from Seattle, Washington. Matt performed as Narrator 6/Lafcadio in our production of “Lafcadio” this semester.
