The Women of Eta Iota Omega Chapter proudly attended this year’s Michigan Day at the Capitol alongside our Sisters from near and far. Our Regional Director, Gwen Kirtley, jumpstarted the day with an energizing welcome that set the tone for an outstanding day of civic engagement and fellowship. Throughout the day, we heard from community leaders, candidates, and state officials who inspired meaningful conversations about advocacy, leadership, and service.
We were especially honored to attend the Michigan Senate session where our Sister, Sarah Anthony, welcomed and introduced on the Senate floor. Eta Iota Omega Chapter also organized a meeting with Dylan Wegela to discuss the Inkster community and opportunities to strengthen partnerships and expand our impact.
Many thanks to our Sister Lisa Coney and the entire planning committee for organizing another successful Michigan Day at the Capitol. A special thank you to our chapter Sisters, Urenia Ricks-Johnson and Debora Curtis, for their dedicated service on the planning committee.
The work did not stop there. Our President, Dr. Shetina M. Jones-Smith, also presented at the Inkster City Council meeting about programs and initiatives designed to uplift, support, and empower the Inkster community.
