It’s going to be a great time!

Allen’s Office of Student Life and Housing is hosting our inaugural National Night Out event in a collaboration with our Criminal Justice Studies program!

What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is a program where communities can build positive relationships with local law enforcement officers. Because National Night Out is held on the first Tuesday of August each year, this is open to our Early Athletes and students who are already on campus. We’ve also invited the local Rotary and Kiwanis clubs to meet our students.

Because we’re hosting this event, dinner for August 6th (tomorrow) is from 7 to 9 pm on the Student Center Pavilion!

“Greetings! My name is Brian Harlow, and I started my law enforcement career in 2004. My law enforcement career began with the University of Kansas Public Safety Office, and I am currently a Captain with the Labette County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, I have served over 24 years in the Army Reserve in various positions and roles as a military police officer. I am currently a Sergeant Major, and in August, I will be assigned as the Command Sergeant Major of the 530th Military Police Battalion.

I have a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati. My undergraduate studies consist of two bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and Juvenile Justice from Missouri Southern State University and a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Workforce Development from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. I am a graduate of the Kansas Law Enforcement Leadership Command School and hold various other certifications.

Outside of law enforcement, my time is spent on local community boards. One as an elected school board member for USD 506, Labette County, and the other for organizing the Katy Days Iron Horse Race in Parsons, Kansas. I have participated in a few triathlons over the years and enjoy watching my son play baseball, along with my daughter playing volleyball.

I am thrilled about this opportunity to contribute to your academic journey at Allen Community College. I am excited to share my knowledge and leverage my expertise with the next generation of law enforcement professionals!”
