Hello everyone, we have a special free online training happening March 29th, TODAY, at 5 p.m. that we wanted to share with you. The training is titled “How To Get Clients For Your Startup Without Having Money In The Bank” a topic I am sure many of you are interested in. The presenter is Cort Davies out of Boston, MA who has been working with many Boston and New York based university entrepreneurs for the last 5 years and has helped over 50 tech start-ups find their place in the market.

Hey all. This week we will be having Thomas Hornbeck come speak to us about his journey from University of Iowa student to running a multi-million dollar company (tutoring app) in silicon valley. His story is truly something worth listening to and Thomas is always ready to help students understand all things entrepreneurial. I-Envision is hosting Amanda Webber for an Innovation Workshop!

Hey all.
We will be bringing in guest speaker, Amanda Webber, who graduated the University of Iowa in 2008 to lead a workshop on innovation. She has over 10+ years of experience in marketing, project management, and business development. Recently, Amanda served as the Lead Innovation Consultant at Transamerica in Cedar Rapids and became the founder of Huddle Line, a side hustle consulting company focused on partnering with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and corporations to provide strategic market evaluations, customer experience coaching and workshop materials.

Come out tonight (Feb. 15th) at 7pm at the BELL for the workshop. We will be be hearing Amanda's story, playing several innovation games, participating in creativity activities and becoming better problem solvers. Also, we'll be serving Jimmy Johns so come early if you want to make sure you get some grub.

I-Envision is back to 2017 with a BANG!

Hey all. We couldn't be more excited to kick the semester off and are really looking forward to seeing new faces and reconnecting with previous members. We have a really exciting semester planned for I-Envision and are planning to really take this organization to the next level.

Come out tomorrow night (Feb. 1st) at 7pm at the BELL for our spring kickoff meeting. We will be recapping last semester, discussing plans for this upcoming semester, and having a jolly good time hanging out. Also, we'll be serving Jimmy Johns. Yes, that is right. No more pizza.

THIS WEEK: Today, October 11th, we will be watching clips of entrepreneurs pitching on a national stage from the award winning reality show Shark Tank. The group will be discussing what the entrepreneurs did well, what they can improve on, and the Sharks' feedback. Join I-Envision as we hear from Jeff Nock TONIGHT, Tuesday, September 6th from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.

Jeff Nock is a lecturer and Entrepreneur-in-Residence here at the University. Jeff graduated from the University of Colorado and stayed in Colorado to work on a number of start-ups including: netLibrary, Knowledge Analysis Technologies, and more. Jeff also helped an Iowa City start-up design firm, Connect Five, and now leads the UI Student Entrepreneurship Programs.

With IdeaStorm coming up next week, Jeff will be talking about "How-to-Pitch" and how to have an investor buy into your idea. You will not want to miss this!
