As you invite visitors after babe, consider these guidelines and expectations.
You are not a host.
They are not a guest.
Anyone visiting should arrive with food, do a task before they leave, and very possibly leave never having physically held the baby.

Yesterday was my first time being called in as a backup for a client I had not yet met.
Every client's experience is a unique honor to support, yet this experience was unique in a way I hadn't yet encountered. The gift of trust from my fellow doula to entrust her client to me and the family to entrust their journey to my abilities was awesome and special. I have so much gratitude for this gift and the important lesson learned in the value of a trusted doula network.
