Harnessing the power of rain, for a local non-profit 🌧️➡️🚲✨

Four of our mechanical engineering seniors teamed up with the Iowa City Bike Library to build a rainwater-powered bike wash station.

From sketch to full-scale system, they designed a custom solution that captures and reuses rainwater (with a 830-gallon tank!) while keeping costs low and style high. Bonus: It’s free for anyone to use 🙌

Last night, for the first time since 2017, the College of Engineering hosted the Order of the Engineer, where graduating seniors pledged to uphold their devotion to the standards and dignity of the engineering profession.

"The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. The Order fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one’s pledge lifelong." — order-of-the-engineer.org
