We love a brunch moment! To wrap up Recruitment Week, a few Brothers gathered to socialize and enjoy some homemade brunch bites. Also, shout-out to the current chapter President, Christian, for their ongoing work to keep our small Chapter running, along with the support of Spencer and Tyler, the newly hired Central Regional Director and Chapter Counselor, respectively.

Andrew James Crowley -- son, brother, friend, cat dad -- died April 29, 2022 in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 24. He is survived by his parents, Jason and Laura Crowley; sister Katherine Crowley, grandma Mary Crowley, and his beloved cats Callie, Sesame, and Mocha.

Andrew was born on March 13, 1998 in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up and lived in Urbandale until graduating from Johnston High School in 2016. He was a lifelong member of Plymouth Congregational Church, participating in youth group and choirs. Andrew earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Iowa in 2021, with a double major in Economics and Ethics & Public Policy. He was a member and former president of Delta Lambda Phi fraternity. He started his first professional job in quality management at Epic, a medical software company in Verona, Wisconsin, in July 2021. He was an avid reader, gamer and loved to bake bread. He was a kind human, an advocate for equality, inclusion, and social justice.

Andrew is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, John Crowley, and his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Dorothy Jeanne Bridenstine.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 13, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 4126 Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa. A reception will follow. All are welcome. It is with heavy hearts that Gamma Gamma honors Br. Andrew Crowley, who joined the eternal Alpha Omega Chapter on April 30th. Andrew was a dedicated Brother who served in many roles during his time as an Active with the Gamma Gamma Chapter; he attended Delta Force Leadership Academy, served as Chapter President for multiple terms, served as a Chapter delegate at Delta Lambda Phi Social Fraternity Conventions, and more.

We remember Andrew, his passion for his kitties, his caring and persistence, his stubbornness, his silly joke and kind laugh, and his concern for the comfort and safety of others. We hold Andrew's family and friends in our thoughts as we, too, mourn his passing. We honor the eternal bonds of Brotherhood in this part of Andrew's journey; Gamma Gamma is proud to be the Chapter where Andrew encountered DLP to start his journey of Brotherhood and we recognize that all Brothers will join the eternal Alpha Omega Chapter eventually, but such a transition is never easy.

For Brothers who wish to attend any services, please reach out to the Gamma Gamma LAA at [email protected]. If you wish to make a gift in Andrew's honor, funds will be split between the Chapter, the Iowa City Animal Shelter, and providing assistance to care for Andrew's three cats -- donations can be made via PayPal ( or [email protected])

The past year has presented obstacles many of us couldn't have predicted and has required creative problem solving and patient support to keep both our chapter and our overall fraternity running smoothly. At Delta Lambda Phi Social Fraternity's Convention 2021, many of those problem solving, patient, and supportive Brothers were acknowledged with awards and recognitions -- check out Delta Lambda Phi Bulletin for more information on that -- including a GamGam of our very own!

Br. Milo Alfarero, who is currently serving as DLP's Senior Director for Chapter Support, was recognized with the Rising Star Award, which is "given to the member of the Fraternity Office staff who exhibited great improvement – in terms of job performance, character, and adherence to DLP's ideals – over the course of the year and will most likely continue rising to higher positions within the Fraternity."

Your home chapter is incredibly proud of you, Milo, and we are also thankful for the labor you invest into this Brotherhood.
