Personal protective equipment (PPE) refers to protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other garments or equipment designed to protect the wearer's body from injury or infection. The hazards addressed by protective equipment include physical, electrical, heat, chemicals, biohazards, and airborne particulate matter. UC Irvine's PPE program provides labs with gear at no charge. Each eligible lab me

mber will receive 2 lab coats, a pair of safety glasses and a pair of splash goggles for the duration of their time at UCI. Go to the Laboratory Hazard Assessment Tool (LHAT) (https://ehs.ucop.edu/lhat/) to complete your training and obtain a voucher. After doing so, make an appointment. Fittings are by appointment only.
