I’m Kamand Shafieha starting my senior year soon at UCI School of Biological Sciences. I’m majoring in Bio Sci and in the future I want to become a biotech consultant. Even though I transferred last year during the pandemic, I was lucky to get a bio199 position as a research assistant at Parsons lab. We research pancreatic beta cells regeneration mechanisms in order to find a cure for diabetes. Although I liked the experience, I’m going to be leaving the lab this summer and look for a clinical research position instead of bench work as it aligns more with my future goals. After I graduate I plan on applying for graduate school and get my masters in business and science. I joined Tau Sigma in fall quarter when I started UCI and it’s been a great experience so far. I made friends and learned a lot from the guest speakers we had coming in. That’s why I decided to join the board as President and give back to people who are going to be starting their journey here just like I did last year. :)

Hello fellow Anteaters, my name is Parneet. I am so excited to join the Tau Sigma family and be part of the community service chair and treasurer. I am originally from the Bay Area and just transferred to UCI during the fall of 2020. So this fall I am looking forward to being on campus for the first time and meeting everyone in person! I am currently pursuing a degree in Psychology. I have an interest in working as a clinical and school psychologist. For the regular day-to-day, I have been taking the time for working out, making homemade latte drinks, and listening to EDM music. I am looking forward to planning meaningful ways for us to volunteer for the community this fall!

Hello Tau Sigs, my name is Michelle Dermenjian 👋🏻 I transferred to UCI in the fall of 2020 as a Psychological Science major. I am currently a Research Assistant at the Paul Merage School of Business, and my future career goals are to become a Market Research/Consumer Insights Analyst. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and exploring cool new places to get coffee(feel free to dm me any good coffee shops near campus!). As your Events Coordinator and Marketing & Outreach Director I’ll make sure your limited time at UCI is spent well, while also documenting all your memories.
