UCI TRIO Scholars Program

UCI TRIO Scholars Program The mission of the TRIO SCHOLARS Program is to increase the retention and graduation rates of its student participants and to guide and motivate students.

The TRIO SCHOLARS Program at UCI – Student Support Services – is a federally funded TRiO Program. Funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, Student Support Services provides opportunities aimed at enhancing students’ academic development, assisting students with their academic progress, and motivating students towards the successful completion of their post-secondary education. UC

I was recently awarded funding by the U.S. Department of Education in September of 2015. TRIO SCHOLARS at UCI (SSS) is funded at $220,000+ annually. Housed within Student Transition Services in the Division of Undergraduate Education, TRIO SCHOLARS offers approximately 140 participants academic, social, personal, and career advising and support from orientation until graduation. Participation is based on eligibility requirements.

The 2021-2022 TRIO Scholars application is now OPEN!

Visit trio.due.uci.edu/about-us/eligibility/ to learn more about the program and check if you meet the eligibility requirements. If you are a student who meets them, please APPLY! If you know a student who may meet the criteria, please share!

The application is due on Wednesday, August 25 at 5:00 PM.

Interested students must be admitted to the University of California, Irvine and demonstrate an academic need for assistance. Students must also meet one or more of the following requirements:

What is up my responsible and amazing TRIO and SSI people?!

We have 2 great workshops aimed to help you be the best version of yourself.

The first one is our Study Skills Workshop designed to help you develop healthy study habits. It will be Week 2 Tuesday, October 8th from 12pm - 1pm at SSI RM 1010AB.

Our second Event is for our upperclassmen looking to apply to internships, write cover letter, or apply to GRAD SCHOOL! It will be Week 2 Thursday, October 10th, from 5PM - 6PM at SSII RM 1010AB.

Do you want a FREE Undated Passion Planner to start off the New Year? Are you interested in learning new study skills?

You can been identified as an eligible participant for the Passion Planner & Learning Skills Workshop hosted by InSight Magazine and LARC! This exciting new workshop will have study skill advisors and on-campus resources to provide assistance to further develop your strengths for success.

The workshop will be held during Week 3 of Winter Quarter – on Wednesday, January 23rd, 4:30pm-7:30pm. The learning skills workshop will be the first half- hosted by our LARC Director Tracie Welser – and the topic is on what everyone has been asking for! Time management and goal setting.

Dinner will follow – provided by the student staff of InSight and the Fresh Hub! Then, let the fun begin with the Passion Planners! We’ll show you how to get started with your OWN new Passion Planner. You’ll even receive your own set of gel pens and highlighters, generously donated by Office Solutions!
