On Monday 10/12 the Park School was able to interact with so many new faces during our Open House. Prospective students came into our halls and were able to learn about the great work and craftsmanship we all showcase here at Park. Faculty and Park students had the opportunity to share their personal experiences and current projects, in order to further explain what makes the Park School different.

Mark your calendars for our future admission event:

Ithaca College Assistant Professor Alaric S. Rocha - a filmmaker and educator whose work explores horror, science fiction, and his Mexican identity - brings a free screening of his feature-length mockumentary, "Where is Juan Moctezuma?" to Cinemapolis on Monday, October 19th at 6pm as part of the Park Faculty Screening Series.

Free advance tickets can be reserved via the Cinemapolis website:
https://www.cinemapolis.org/movie/where-is-juan-moctezuma/

Synopsis:
Legendary 70s Mexican horror film auteur, Juan F. Moctezuma II fought to make a Hollywood film to win back his beloved from a luchador. However, Moctezuma disappeared with the film. Watch as we unravel the mystery. This film premiered at Fright Fest London.

Rocha created the world of Juan Moctezuma, a fictional Mexican horror director. The films Rocha wrote and directed include a selection of shorts made as if he were Juan Moctezuma that showcase a world of campy horror, and the feature-length mockumentary that delves into the mysterious disappearance of the famed director in "Where is Juan Moctezuma?" after he shot his first Hollywood feature.

The Ithaca community will have the opportunity to step into this imaginative world first at the free public screening of "Where is Juan Moctezuma?" at Cinemapolis, and then can also enjoy three of the short films at the Roy H. Park School of Communications on Wednesday, October 28th at 6pm. Both events will include a talkback with director Alaric S. Rocha and are free and open to the public.

The Roy H. Park School of Communications mourns the sudden loss of Assistant Professor Michael Lewis. We celebrate his life by remembering a talented and accomplished photographer who mentored and inspired many students to challenge themselves to become passionate about photography, light, and art. Michael will be deeply missed but his legacy will live on through the many students and colleagues who had the privilege of working with him. Michael's photography portfolio can be viewed at www.michaellewisphotography.com.

The Photography Faculty have beautifully created cards for students, faculty, and staff to share kind thoughts and memories of Professor Michael Lewis. They will give the cards to his family so they know how much he was admired and appreciated. Cards can be found outside the Park Photo Gallery.

Additionally, a gathering will be held on Thursday, September 24 at 3:30pm in Muller Chapel to remember Michael and honor his impact on our campus. There will be time for those who wish to share.
