And finally, our cross-genre TA, Rebecca Rivera, who will be working with Professor Katie Marks on Poetry, Image-Text, and Personal Essay. Check out all classes and faculty at https://www.ithaca.edu/ithaca-young-writers-institute/courses-faculty

"Hello all! My name is Rebecca Rivera, and I'm from Poughkeepsie, New York. I’m a sophomore Professional Writing major with a minor in Writing for Film, TV, and Emerging Media. What does professional writing entail? Well, it leans more towards technical writing, science writing, workplace writing, etc. Outside of professional writing, I enjoy writing nonfiction and playing around with poetry. Some fun facts? I love theatre, baking, anything and everything macabre, the deep inexplicable mystery of forests, ducks, and thinking about the inevitable heat death of the universe."

Next, please meet our Fiction TA, Julia Dath! You can work with Julia and Professor Eleanor Henderson by applying to be in our Fiction track: https://www.ithaca.edu/ithaca-young-writers-institute/how-apply-cost

Hello! My name is Julia Dath and I’m from the Philly suburbs. I’m a junior Writing major and Writing for Film, Television, and Emerging Media minor at Ithaca College. I write lots of contemporary fiction and especially love writing stories about sisters. Some fun facts about me: I love Star Wars, Taylor Swift, and any movies or books where characters wear fancy dresses. I also run a blog where I review YA books, and I’ve been slowly (but surely!) reading Anna Karenina since January.

Meet our TAs for summer 2021! First up is Adia, who will be working with Science Fiction/Fantasy class as well as our Literary Magazine class.

"Hi, I’m Adia Robinson Butler (that’s uh-dee-uh)! I’m from the suburbs of Chicagoland, Illinois and I’m currently a junior Writing major at Ithaca College—I mainly write poetry and contemporary and fantasy fiction. Here’s the extra stuff: I’m an only child and a massive introvert, I like movies, music, photography, and making digital art (I’m also a Graphic Design minor); I drink way too much coffee, and I have an existential crisis every other day that manifests in me revamping my Pinterest."

We're somehow already nearly at the end of our five-week remote program. It was hard to not get to be together in person, but the fantastic writers still made something special! That's culminated in their "time capsule" literary magazine, Not Laundry. Check it out here:
